Price advantage for packaging licensing
The new version of the Packaging Act (VerpackG) introduced in 2019 has been in force since 1 July 2022. This poses challenges for wine producers, wine merchants, distributors of packaged goods and all digital marketplaces: This is because new obligations have applied to them since then, such as registration in the new packaging register Lucid. Non-compliance can result in severe - and expensive - penalties.

What is the Packaging Act?

  • The Packaging Act came into force on 1 January 2019 and requires packaging to be licensed with one of the dual systems.
  • The licensing obligation applies to every distributor from the first filled packaging, regardless of the packaging material and quantity - this obligation applies to all packaging supplied to end customers. This also applies to shipping cartons.
  • The controlling body is the Central Agency Packaging Register (www.verpackungsregister.org), which keeps a publicly accessible register of all licensing companies.
  • Non-compliance with the law can result in sales bans and fines of up to 200,000 euros.

Advantages of the EASyShop

  • Works completely online: Simple and fast processing of packaging licences at fair prices via EASyShop, the online shop of the Landbell Dual System
  • No advance notification and payment of quantities necessary: Only the minimum fee is paid when the contract is concluded and then the actual volume is invoiced at the end of the year
  • VerpackG-compliant
  • Proof of participation via certificate
  • An online price calculator makes it easier for the user to calculate the individual licence costs

Calculation aid

  • Weight per bottle 0.75 = approx. 600 grams, i.e. approx. 1700 bottles/tonne
  • Weight per 12-bottle shipping carton = 2.3 kg, i.e. approx. 430 cartons/tonne. If you use a similar number of 18-bottle cartons as 6-bottle cartons, you can simply calculate the quantities as 12-bottle cartons for a rough calculation.
  • The calculation aid is non-binding and only suitable for a rough estimate!
